Alton EDC Launches 1 Million Cups en Español – January 28 at 9:00 AM
The Alton Economic Development Corporation is proud to announce the official launch of 1 Million Cups (1MC) in our community. The first-ever 1 Million Cups meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 28 at 9:00 AM, bringing together entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community supporters for a morning of connection and conversation.
1 Million Cups is a national entrepreneurship program created by the Kauffman Foundation to support and engage entrepreneurs at the local level. The program brings communities together one morning a month, over coffee, to learn about local businesses and share ideas, resources, and encouragement.
What Is 1 Million Cups?
1 Million Cups is not a pitch competition—it’s a platform for learning, collaboration, and support. Entrepreneurs present their businesses and challenges, followed by an open discussion where attendees can ask questions, offer insights, and help strengthen each other’s ideas.
What This Means for Our Community
The launch of 1 Million Cups represents a major step forward in supporting entrepreneurship and small business growth in Alton. Through regular meetings, the program will:
Create a welcoming space for local entrepreneurs and startups
Encourage peer-to-peer learning and mentorship
Strengthen connections between businesses, professionals, and community leaders
Help build a stronger, more innovative local economy
1 Million Cups helps foster a culture where ideas are shared, businesses are supported, and the community grows together.
