Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program
SATOP is a FREE, state-funded service designed to provide technical assistance and speed the transfer of space technology to the private sector. By giving engineering technology assistance to Texas small businesses and entrepreneurs, SATOP helps them solve their challenges and increase their chances of succeeding. The program provides small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs access to knowledge, skills, and materials that were previously unknown or unavailable to the private sector.
SATOP GUIDELINES: PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
The request must articulate a distinct and identifiable technical problem.
The requesting business or entrepreneur must have been unable to solve the challenge with the resources available to them.
Technical assistance requests are limited to small businesses (less than 500 employees).
Individuals or inventors without a valid business license do not qualify.
The business must be owned and operated in the State of Texas.
Requests must not involve competition with commercially available products or services. SATOP does not compete with commercially available products and services.
The requesting company must possess a patent, provisional patent, prototype, or engineering drawings.
A designated point of contact, available for interaction through emails and virtual meetings, must be assigned by the requesting company.
It's important to note that SATOP cannot work on Information Technology (IT) challenges.
