Alton Career Connect Job Fair Draws Nearly 350 Attendees
Successful event connected local job seekers with employers and career opportunities from across the region
The Alton Career Connect Job Fair brought nearly 350 job seekers together with approximately 30 participating employers on September 9 at the Alton Recreation Center, making the event a tremendous success for the community.
Throughout the morning, attendees met directly with employers representing healthcare, education, public service, logistics, transportation, staffing, retail, and other industries. Job seekers were able to learn about current openings, submit résumés, explore different career paths, and make valuable face-to-face connections with hiring representatives.
The event was organized through a partnership between the Alton Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Alton Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Solutions, and RGV Operation Get Hired.
“The strong turnout showed us how important it is to bring employers and job seekers together in one place,” said Ivan Gonzalez, CEO of the Alton Economic Development Corporation. “This was about more than hosting a job fair. It was about creating real connections, helping people explore new opportunities, and supporting the workforce needs of businesses throughout our region.”
Employers and participating partners shared positive feedback about the organization of the event, the number of attendees, and the quality of the interactions with job seekers.

The organizers also thank the participating employers, community partners, volunteers, and every job seeker who attended and contributed to the success of Alton Career Connect.
Following the strong response to this year’s event, the Alton EDC and Chamber look forward to continuing their efforts to connect residents with employment opportunities while helping local and regional businesses find the workforce they need to grow.
