Outstanding presentations, great community participation, and meaningful conversations highlighted October's 1 Million Cups Alton en Español.
The entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well in Alton this week! On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, 1 Million Cups Alton en Español brought together local entrepreneurs, business owners, and community supporters for another successful morning of inspiration, learning, and networking.
The event featured two outstanding local entrepreneurs, Nancy Rangel of Time Out Sitters and Sonia Arrambide of Paisano Tax, who shared their entrepreneurial journeys, business experiences, and valuable insights with attendees.
Nancy Rangel | Time Out Sitters
Nancy shared her experience in the service industry and her journey with Time Out Sitters, a business providing trusted childcare and pet care services throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Her presentation offered valuable perspectives on entrepreneurship, customer service, and building a business centered around the needs of local families.
Sonia Arrambide | Paisano Tax
Sonia, a UTRGV graduate and IRS Enrolled Agent, shared her experience building Paisano Tax and helping individuals and businesses navigate tax-related matters. Her presentation highlighted the importance of financial knowledge, professional expertise, and providing valuable services to the community.
A Morning of Connections and Community Support
The October gathering saw a fantastic turnout, with attendees actively participating, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing ideas with our presenters.
Beyond the outstanding presentations, the event provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect, exchange experiences, and build relationships within Alton's growing business community.
"What makes 1 Million Cups special is the opportunity to bring entrepreneurs together, learn from one another, and create a community where everyone feels supported. Seeing this level of participation and enthusiasm reminds us why we started this program in Alton."
Supporting Entrepreneurship, One Cup at a Time
Launched earlier this year, 1 Million Cups Alton en Español continues to provide a welcoming space for Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs to share their stories, discuss business challenges, receive constructive feedback, and connect with others who share their passion for entrepreneurship.
The program, supported by the Alton Economic Development Corporation and the Greater Alton Chamber of Commerce, is part of the national 1 Million Cups initiative founded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Nancy Rangel and Sonia Arrambide for their excellent presentations and willingness to share their experiences. We also thank everyone who joined us and helped make this another memorable gathering.
We look forward to continuing to grow this entrepreneurial community, one conversation and one cup of coffee at a time!
